Where have the years gone?

Today I sat in the passenger seat next to Nicky as she was in control of my car for the very first time, just a bit of practice up and down the driveway, it was just the strangest feeling. Dad will be doing the on road teaching in conjunction with a driving instructor. Seems like only yesterday she was in a child restraint seat [img]graemlins/cry_smile.gif[/img]

I have to look up at Andrew now when I'm speaking to him and Will is soon off to secondary school........

ah too quickly Terry! Mine have both towered over me for some time, lol.

How does the school system work there in the UK? Our kids (in South Australia) go to Primary School after they turn 5 and do Reception for the first year (kids who start mid year do 18 months of reception) and then Grades 1 - 7.

Secondary School is Years 8 - 12. Nicky will turn 18 in her last month of Secondary School.

In the UK, it's primary school from the term in which they're 5 until they leave at age 11 (that's reception class for the youngest up to class 6 for the oldest) and then on to secondary school. That starts at Year 7 and goes to Year 13 (upper sixth form) where they can be up to the age of nearly 19. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Will's in his final year at primary school (class 6) and Andrew is in Year 10 at secondary school.
